The Victorian era saw the wealthy folk of the day visit Scotland, including islands such as Mull. It also saw the invention of the cyanotype by Sir John Herschel in 1842.
I took images taken on Mull using a digital camera and created a digital negative. From this, I produced a series of cyanotype prints. The images reflect the new and the old. Past and present.
The images are small, only measuring 8.5cm x 6cm. They are framed to create objects; the kind of objects valued and treasured by those Victorian tourists.
